Category Manager, Electrical

Location: On-site in Arvada, Colorado, United States, supporting sites in Arvada, Brighton, Tulsa, and Ponchatoula.

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 per year, plus Restricted Stock Units.

What you will do

• Own the electrical spend category, including switchgear, PDC components, cable, wire, and specialized electrical hardware.
• Track market intelligence, supplier capabilities, pricing benchmarks, lead times, and capacity constraints.
• Qualify and manage the electrical Approved Vendor List, including NEC and UL compliance verification.
• Develop 12–24 month category strategies using segmentation frameworks such as the Kraljic Matrix and dual-sourcing plans.
• Structure and negotiate MSAs, pricing, terms, SLAs, and schedule-protection clauses.
• Manage supplier risks and scorecards while aligning commercial frameworks with Material Planners and PO Specialists.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of dedicated experience in strategic sourcing or category management for electrical components, switchgear, or industrial electrical equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Working knowledge of NEC and UL compliance requirements and electrical component specifications.
• Hands-on experience reading, structuring, and redlining complex commercial contracts.
• Proficiency with supplier qualification, RFI/RFQ processes, supplier scorecards, and category segmentation methodologies.
• On-site availability in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Acumatica or similar ERP platforms.
• Experience in high-power compute, data center infrastructure, energy, or industrial equipment environments.
• Experience building dual-sourcing strategies for long-lead industrial hardware.
