Claims Director, Property & Casualty

Location: Chicago, United States; hybrid work with two office days required weekly

Salary: $185,000–$225,000 per year, plus a performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Lead, motivate, and develop AVPs and team managers responsible for general liability claims teams.
• Execute the US Claims strategy, delivering key performance indicators and hirify.global USA best practices.
• Drive strategic claims initiatives, cost-effective results, litigation strategy, and a consistent customer experience.
• Oversee litigation management, claims trends, training opportunities, and employee engagement.
• Manage reserving best-practice compliance for the commercial general liability line, including exposure and reserve adequacy.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims operations, senior management, and other stakeholders on business objectives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of claims management experience or equivalent, including significant people management and leadership experience.
• 7+ years of insurance carrier claims handling experience, preferably in commercial general liability.
• Ability to translate strategic thinking into tangible plans and business delivery.
• Strong operational, business process, systems, judgement, and customer-focused skills.
• Proven experience using technology to improve business performance and efficiency.
• Track record of collaborating with and managing stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
