Director, TPA Claims

What you will do

• Own claims strategy, execution, performance reporting, annual planning, forecasting, and cost and staffing decisions for the TPA claims business.
• Define the claims technology requirements roadmap and represent Claims TPA in product decisions and prioritization.
• Establish service-level frameworks and scope claims capacity for onboarding new external TPA customers.
• Build and lead the Claims TPA organization by hiring, training, and developing adjusters and supervisors.
• Set caseload standards, workflows, quality benchmarks, licensing compliance practices, and regulatory controls across jurisdictions and product lines.
• Oversee quality assurance, file audits, reserving accuracy, litigation strategy, defense counsel, and litigation budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of claims-handling experience, including 5+ years leading adjusters and supervisors.
• 5+ years of general liability claims experience with deep knowledge of coverage, liability, and claims handling across premises, products, and other GL exposures.
• Demonstrated experience managing litigated claims, defense counsel, litigation strategy, and budgets.
• Active adjuster license(s) or the ability to obtain multi-state licensing.
• Experience building and scaling high-performance teams, with strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in an MGA, program business, or insurtech environment.
• Experience with sports and fitness claims handling.
• Experience with the Snapsheet claims system.
