Property Claims Director

Location: Home United States; fully remote. The role is home-based and may require national travel.

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead a national field claims organization handling residential and commercial first- and third-party property claims.
• Set claims strategies, operational standards, performance benchmarks, and loss-cost management initiatives.
• Provide technical oversight of complex, severe, and high-exposure claims, including coverage evaluations, liability determinations, negotiations, and resolutions.
• Monitor claim severity, litigation rates, cycle times, indemnity, and expense performance while implementing corrective actions.
• Partner with executive leadership, Legal, actuarial, finance, and claims operations on enterprise objectives, audits, regulatory inquiries, and litigation matters.
• Lead, mentor, and develop regional and field claims leaders and adjusting staff nationwide.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor or advanced degree preferred.
• Active adjuster license with the ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
• At least 7 years of progressive property claims experience, including third-party and commercial property claims.
• Proficiency in property estimating practices and Xactware products.
• Leadership experience overseeing large, geographically dispersed field claims teams, including increased volume during weather events.
• Strong expertise in liability evaluation, complex claims, litigation management, coverage analysis, state regulations, data analysis, and process improvement; ability to travel nationally as needed.
