VP, Claims Adjudication (Insurance)

Location: Remote within the United States; territories excluded. Remote team members must live and work in the US and have reliable, high-speed internet.

Salary: $200,000–$260,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead the claims adjudication function across all jurisdictions and oversee daily and long-term operations.
• Implement workers’ compensation claims programs and establish procedures for processing, investigation, settlement, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with the Chief Claims Officer on enterprise claims strategy and represent adjudication in company-wide decisions.
• Build and develop a claims organization, including Directors and Senior Managers, with clear goals, KPIs, budgets, and performance standards.
• Direct large-loss and catastrophe claim reviews and settlements while improving loss ratios, claims outcomes, and profitable growth.
• Guide claims technology, automation, digital transformation, fraud oversight, and relationships with regulatory bodies and external partners.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in workers’ compensation claims, field claims operations, and claims adjudication.
• 10+ years of people management experience, including management of second-line leaders such as Directors and Senior Managers.
• Experience building and managing claims adjudication teams of 15 or more people.
• Expertise in disputed and litigated claims across multiple jurisdictions and in claims metrics and analytics.
• Strategic leadership experience in the insurance industry, with the ability to influence enterprise decisions and present to C-suite executives.
• Strong communication, crisis management, stakeholder relationship, change leadership, and external representation skills.
