Location: Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia; onsite manufacturing role with night-shift availability required

hirify.global is a medical device company developing the OmniPod Insulin Management System and drug delivery technologies for people with diabetes and pharmaceutical partners.

What you will do

  • Install, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated assembly and process equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including equipment cleaning, inspection, lubrication, setup, adjustments, and changeovers.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical faults across lasers, optical gauging devices, continuity testing, inspection stations, robotics, and automated assembly systems.
  • Document maintenance activities, communicate equipment issues, and support preventive maintenance scheduling with manufacturing and corporate representatives.
  • Resolve complex quality, process, safety, and operating-efficiency issues using data analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Create and train standard operating procedures while contributing to individual and cross-functional improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Engineering or a technical certificate from a local institute; an Engineering Technician Diploma or Associate Degree is preferred.
  • For the Technician II scope: 3–5 years of direct experience assembling, debugging, optimizing, and maintaining automated assembly equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills required.
  • Technical ability with electrical and mechanical systems, automated equipment, sensors, pneumatic actuators, servo motors, robotics, HMI/GUI interfaces, and precision assembly methods.
  • Basic computer skills, MS Office proficiency, and experience with DMAIC, PDCA, Pareto charts, Fishbone diagrams, or 5 Whys.
  • Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment, stand for at least 75% of each shift, walk for at least 50%, work in tight spaces, and lift up to 35 lb occasionally.

Nice to have

  • Experience with mechanical swaging, ultrasonic or heat staking, laser welding, electronic controls, high-speed filming equipment, and clean-room manufacturing.
  • Experience with continuous improvement after implementation and in a startup production environment.
