Advanced Equipment Maintenance & Preventative Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Batu Kawan, Malaysia, at the Penang SDSM Office

What you will do

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in backend process and production equipment.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair, and reassemble equipment using schematics, manuals, and technical specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance, complex repairs, equipment diagnostics, and root-cause analysis.
• Support manufacturing operations in a high-volume, rapidly changing industrial environment.
• Collaborate with Engineering on new equipment installations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop maintenance procedures and support the training and mentorship of other technicians.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, or Mechatronics.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and electrical/electronic components.
• Ability to use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges, diagnostic equipment, and test equipment.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively with peers and engineering staff, and manage shifting priorities.
• Understanding of PLC systems and experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PC hardware/software issues are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with vision systems, Auto VMI, Auto Labeling, or Auto Packing equipment and processes.
• Experience writing maintenance procedures and leading factory improvement initiatives.
• Experience providing technical training and mentorship to other technicians.
