Equipment Maintenance & Preventative Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing Equipment)

Location: Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia; onsite work at the Penang SDSM Office. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.

What you will do

• Operate and monitor SMT equipment, including pick-and-place machines, Datacon 8800, underfill, reflow ovens, solder paste printers, and AOI systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment issues.
• Support line setup, product changeovers, production operations, equipment relocation, and system retirement.
• Analyze engineering failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions using structured problem-solving tools.
• Improve equipment availability, OEE, UPH, yield, performance, and reliability.
• Support continuous improvement projects while following safety and workplace organization standards.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or an equivalent discipline.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts onsite in Malaysia.
• Ability to read, write, and converse in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting flows.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic components.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with computer systems and computer networks.
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of sputtering, unit ball attach, reflow, or plasma machines.
• Ability to work independently and strong interpersonal skills.
