Manager, State & Local Government Relations & Public Policy

What you will do

• Lead state and local government relations, advocacy, and relationship-building efforts across approximately 15 states.
• Develop and execute strategies to influence state legislation, regulations, and public policy affecting hirify.global’s products, services, and business objectives.
• Manage contract lobbyists, in-state consultants, industry trade associations, and grassroots initiatives.
• Build relationships with elected officials, state agency leaders, coalitions, and other third-party organizations.
• Monitor priority bills and regulatory issues and prepare written analyses and strategic assessments.
• Collaborate with legal partners, business leaders, subject-matter experts, and corporate affairs teams on policy initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in multi-state government relations, state government affairs, advocacy, coalition-building, or state policy, with a focus on DC and Southern/Southeast states.
• Experience in technology-industry government relations, public policy, industry affairs, and coalition building.
• Strong understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes and the public policy environment affecting businesses.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, prioritizing conflicting demands, and leading multifaceted internal and external teams.
• Strong critical-thinking, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree, along with demonstrated integrity and ethical professional conduct.
