Location: Atlanta, GA (WeWork); combination of office work and travel, with travel required 60% of the time within assigned states.

Salary: $159,900–$215,900 per year, plus bonus eligibility based on individual and company performance.

What you will do

  • Lead and execute government affairs strategy across an assigned region of approximately 10–20 states.
  • Represent the company before state legislatures, governors’ offices, Medicaid agencies, transportation leaders, and personal care services administrators.
  • Lead legislative and regulatory advocacy, coordinate contract lobbyists, and monitor policy, procurement, reimbursement, and compliance developments.
  • Prepare testimony, comment letters, issue briefs, executive talking points, risk assessments, and recommended actions for senior leadership.
  • Manage stakeholder mapping, coalition participation, grassroots and grasstops engagement, and state-level public affairs initiatives.
  • Advise Corporate Affairs leadership on political dynamics, leadership transitions, enforcement risks, policy trends, and stakeholder sentiment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in public policy, public administration, law, or a related field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in state government affairs, public policy, or public affairs, including direct work with state legislatures, governors’ offices, or executive branch agencies.
  • Experience serving as a primary external representative, coordinating contract lobbyists, and managing senior policymakers and external stakeholders.
  • Strong writing, verbal communication, analytical, project management, judgment, and relationship-building skills.
  • Understanding of state procurement and rate-setting environments, particularly Medicaid, non-emergency medical transportation, and personal care services.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within assigned states; travel is expected 60% of the time.
