Senior Strategy Manager, Government Affairs

Location: New York City headquarters; in-person work required 4–5 days per week. Travel to Washington, DC, state capitals, agency, legislative, and industry engagements is expected. Relocation packages are available.

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Establish and lead the government affairs and public policy function from 0→1.
• Build relationships with housing authorities, government agencies, regulators, and public-sector stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyze legislation and regulation involving AI, fair housing, data privacy, tenant screening, and affordable housing programs.
• Represent hirify.global with policymakers, industry associations, and coalitions by authoring position papers, comment letters, and testimony.
• Advise product, legal, and leadership teams on regulatory risks, opportunities, and commercial implications.
• Partner with go-to-market teams and manage external counsel, lobbyists, and consultants as the function grows.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory strategy at a high-growth technology startup, or a relevant role at a top-tier management consultancy.
• Strong understanding of housing and technology policy, including legislative and regulatory developments.
• Established relationships with housing authorities, agencies, or regulators, or the ability to build them quickly.
• Experience building a function or initiative from 0→1 without an established playbook.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, analytical judgment, and ability to translate policy into product and commercial guidance.
• Ability and willingness to work in person at the NYC headquarters 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with fair housing, AI regulation, data privacy, LIHTC, or Section 8/PBRA programs.
