Manager, Software Engineering (Infra Foundations)

Location: Remote Canada; open only to candidates residing in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan

Base pay: CAD 181,000–241,000 per year

What you will do

• Define the vision and multi-quarter roadmap for the Infra Foundations team.
• Lead, mentor, hire, and support the performance and career growth of infrastructure engineers.
• Own AWS account provisioning, bootstrapping, core VPC networking, interconnectivity, and human IAM access.
• Build and maintain IaC frameworks and automation using GitHub, Spacelift, and related workflows.
• Steward AWS quota management, AMI patch management, and Ansible-based configuration management.
• Set reliability and safety standards for IAM requests, provisioning validation, networking changes, incident response, and environment teardown.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience and 2+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience leading infrastructure, platform engineering, or adjacent teams.
• Strong cloud-native infrastructure experience, preferably with AWS, including accounts, VPC networking, and IAM.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or Spacelift, and GitOps-style workflows.
• Experience operating reliable infrastructure services, including monitoring, on-call, incident response, postmortems, and continuous hardening.
• Strong programming background in Python, Go, or Kotlin, plus a related bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
