Software Engineering Manager

Location: Remote

Salary: $230,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead and develop engineers through mentorship, feedback, and career growth conversations.
• Collaborate with product and design to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable features.
• Guide architectural decisions, engineering best practices, performance, and reliability.
• Scale the engineering organization by supporting hiring, refining processes, and improving execution.
• Foster collaboration, learning, transparency, adaptability, and shared ownership.
• Anticipate growth challenges while maintaining focus on user and business value.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Experience leading teams in a high-growth startup environment and willingness to stay hands-on when needed.
• Strong focus on usability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Ability to set goals, communicate clearly, and deliver measurable results.
• Track record of attracting, developing, and retaining engineering talent.
• Ability to translate customer and business needs into technical roadmaps and execution plans.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Node, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Python, Docker, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
