Buyer (Electromechanical Components)

Location: Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States

Salary: $65,700–$85,000 per year plus bonus

Company

Industrial division supplying electromechanical components and subsystems for on- and off-highway vehicles, including trucks, buses, construction and agricultural vehicles, and medical mobility equipment.

What you will do

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies for electromechanical components.
• Identify, source, and manage plastics, metals, electrical, and electronic component vendors.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms and resolve supplier issues.
• Ensure purchases meet quality, safety, quantity, budget, and delivery requirements.
• Manage inventory levels and value while analyzing market trends and pricing for cost-reduction opportunities.
• Prepare purchasing reports and documentation and collaborate with Engineering and Production.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience purchasing electrical components and equipment, or a master's degree in a supply chain discipline in lieu of experience.
• Experience working with plastics, metals, and/or electronic vendors and suppliers.
• Knowledge of plastic, metal, and/or electronic components, equipment, applications, and technical specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with IATF/ISO 16949 standards and purchasing regulations and procedures.
• Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with inventory management software and systems.
• Knowledge of Syteline CSI.
