Sr. Buyer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Hawthorne, California; periodic offsite field visits and associated travel required

Salary: $105,000–$136,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop commodity strategies for new product introduction and production while balancing cost, quality, and delivery.
• Source suppliers, manage RFx processes, negotiate contracts, and perform should-cost analyses for make-versus-buy decisions.
• Manage purchase orders, supplier performance, delivery schedules, and recovery actions.
• Assess supplier capabilities, capacity, financial health, and operational performance through evaluations and site visits.
• Partner with engineering, production, finance, and other cross-functional teams on schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
• Negotiate commercial, technical, intellectual property, export compliance, and other contractual provisions while driving cost reduction and procurement improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, operations management, or a related discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience, or 6+ years of relevant experience without a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts.
• Experience managing multiple procurement projects using procurement software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract administration, and procurement data analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Direct procurement experience in aerospace, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
• Experience implementing or improving ERP, MRP, or inventory management systems.
• Experience supporting supplier performance, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
