Senior Category Manager (Mechanical)

Location: Arvada, Colorado, United States; on-site

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 per year, plus Restricted Stock Units.

What you will do

• Own the mechanical category of spend, including enclosures, structural fabrication, doors, sheet metal, and related components, at the strategic level.
• Analyze market intelligence, supplier capabilities, pricing benchmarks, fabrication lead times, capacity constraints, and category spend.
• Qualify suppliers for the mechanical Approved Vendor List by auditing shop-floor capabilities, tolerances, welding, equipment, and manufacturing capacity.
• Develop category segmentation and 12–24 month roadmaps for strategic custom fabrications and leverage standard items.
• Structure and negotiate MSAs, SLAs, delivery commitments, liability caps, force majeure clauses, and other commercial terms.
• Manage supplier capacity risks, dual-sourcing options, make-or-buy analyses, quarterly scorecards, and the handoff of standing terms to Procurement Operations.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of strategic sourcing or category management experience focused on fabricated metal, enclosures, or mechanical components.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Working knowledge of metal fabrication methods, tolerancing, and shop-floor supplier assessment.
• Experience reading, structuring, and redlining commercial contracts and legal terms.
• Proficiency with supplier qualification frameworks, RFI/RFQ processes, scorecards, and category segmentation methodologies.
• Must work on-site in Arvada, Colorado, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating or auditing welding, machining, or sheet metal shop floors.
• Hands-on ERP experience with Acumatica or a similar enterprise platform.
• Experience in data center infrastructure, modular enclosures, or heavy industrial equipment environments.
