Principal Engineer II - Software Development Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Define the technical vision for large-scale supply chain platforms and align it with business priorities, enterprise architecture, scalability, security, and cost objectives.
• Lead architecture and design decisions across products and development teams throughout discovery, implementation, deployment, and operational support.
• Coordinate multiple engineering teams, set priorities, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and establish effective delivery rhythms.
• Mentor engineers, technical leads, and engineering managers while advancing cloud-native, DevSecOps, observability, reliability engineering, and software delivery practices.
• Partner with product, operations, architecture, platform, and supply chain stakeholders to create technical roadmaps and remove execution barriers.
• Set standards for AI-assisted engineering, run time-boxed experiments and prototypes, and turn validated approaches into engineering practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years designing and delivering complex enterprise software solutions and transformation initiatives.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, modern integration patterns, and scalable platform design.
• 5+ years using React, Node, TypeScript, PostgreSQL or MongoDB, REST APIs, Docker, Terraform, Serverless, and modern DevOps practices.
• Expertise in enterprise architecture, system design, domain-driven design, APIs, event-driven systems, security, observability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams, mentoring senior engineers, influencing without authority, and leading cross-functional delivery.
• Demonstrated use of AI as an engineering assistant and experience integrating data, analytics, and AI/ML capabilities into production enterprise platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or fulfillment platforms at enterprise scale.
• AWS Solutions Architect or SAFe/agile delivery certification.
• Experience with globally distributed teams, asynchronous delivery, LLMs, AI agents, or AI-assisted development platforms.
• Experience introducing emerging technology from evaluation and pilot through enterprise standards and adoption.
