Manager, Engineering - Originations (Test Automation)

What you will do

• Lead test automation strategy and frameworks across multiple scrum teams, covering frontend functionality, regression, smoke testing, backend APIs, and integration testing.
• Establish standards for test quality, reliability, maintainability, and coverage while identifying flaky tests and quality risks.
• Coordinate release planning and execution with DevOps and Platform Engineering, improving deployment stability, rollback readiness, and release visibility.
• Facilitate Agile and Scrum practices across teams and guide improvements in velocity, throughput, and delivery discipline.
• Track and report DORA metrics, sprint health, delivery trends, dependencies, and systemic engineering issues.
• Influence engineers and leaders across teams to improve quality, predictability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future Toyota immigration support or visa sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in engineering operations, quality engineering, delivery management, or DevOps-adjacent roles.
• Strong experience with frontend and backend test automation frameworks.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, cloud deployments, and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Experience defining and tracking engineering metrics, including DORA metrics, with strong communication and cross-functional influence skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, financial services, or regulated environments.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, or Postman.
• Familiarity with AWS and containerized deployments.
• Background as a Scrum Master, Release Manager, or SDET Lead.
• Experience scaling startup-style engineering teams into enterprise delivery organizations.
