Software Engineering Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Spend approximately 70% of the role writing and shipping code and 30% on people leadership.
• Lead career development through one-on-ones, feedback cycles, coaching, and mentoring.
• Manage individual contributors working across multiple product teams in a matrix organization.
• Partner with engineers, product leads, and peer managers on technical decisions, team health, and delivery.
• Remove blockers, support hiring and onboarding, and advocate for engineers across the organization.
• Contribute to cloud architecture, performance-sensitive applications, AI, and complex design and simulation workflows.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on engineering background building cloud-based, user-facing systems.
• Experience as an engineering manager, team lead, or in a similar people-leadership role.
• Ability to balance regular technical contribution with people leadership and coaching.
• Experience managing or developing individual contributors across multiple teams, contexts, or product areas.
• Strong communication skills, especially for one-on-one coaching and feedback conversations.
• Comfort working in matrix or dotted-line structures with competing priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, serverless architectures, and AWS.
• Background in large-scale systems or platform development.
• Experience in cross-functional, international product teams.
• Interest in applying AI to real-world products.
