Location: Remote Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or on-site Cheswick, Pennsylvania. Travel of up to 50% locally, domestically, or internationally may be required. Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens and able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Salary: $86,100–$143,500 per year

designs, manufactures, tests, and supports critical-function pumps, motors, generators, seals, control rod drive mechanisms, and power conditioning electronics for the US Navy and commercial nuclear industries.
What you will do
- Identify critical suppliers and provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support for day-to-day production execution.
- Review supplier processes, lead proactive improvement initiatives, and resolve manufacturing vulnerabilities.
- Improve supplier communication, capability, yield, throughput, on-time delivery, and cost or time performance.
- Lead technical reviews, first-article readiness reviews, PFMEA and control-plan activities, process audits, and on-site supplier oversight.
- Assess supplier capacity, conduct root cause analysis, and direct corrective actions and nonconformance dispositioning.
- Coordinate with design engineering, quality, supply chain, sourcing, and program teams on manufacturing issues and documentation, audits, inspections, and customer visits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a manufacturing lead role.
- At least 10 years of manufacturing experience, including machining, fabrication welding, testing, winding, or assembly.
- Experience in commercial nuclear, defense, aerospace, energy, or another regulated industry.
- Knowledge of applicable quality systems, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, or MIL-I-45208.
- Blueprint reading with GD&T per ASME Y14.5M, plus experience creating, reviewing, or approving procedures, work instructions, drawings, or routings.
- US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Previous on-site supplier experience.
- Green Belt or Black Belt Lean certification.
- Experience with complex project management, strategy deployment, problem prevention, or mentoring.
