Attorney (Privacy, Data & AI)

Location: Remote within the United States. hirify.global is currently unable to hire in Quebec, Northern Ireland, or Hawaii. The remote-first model supports working from home, company-paid coworking spaces, or a combination of both, with occasional in-person events.

Salary: $124,480–$186,720 base salary annually, plus eligibility for a 10% corporate bonus.

What you will do

• Advise on customer contracts, vendor contracts, and data processing agreements, including privacy risks, AI governance, and third-party data sharing restrictions.
• Maintain privacy, data security, AI compliance policies, terms of service, and related legal documentation.
• Conduct risk assessments for data handling in new features, integrations, and business initiatives.
• Support data subject requests, incident management, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, Information Security, and other teams to implement compliance-by-design practices.
• Monitor regulatory developments, advise leaders, deliver compliance training, and coordinate third-party due diligence.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
• At least 3 years of relevant legal experience.
• Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, the EU AI Act, and other U.S. and international privacy, data security, and AI laws.
• Experience advising SaaS, data analytics, or technology companies on privacy, data security, and AI compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business guidance.
• Must be able to work remotely from the United States; hiring is unavailable in Quebec, Northern Ireland, and Hawaii.

Nice to have

• Experience with security frameworks such as SOC 2 or FedRAMP.
• Familiarity with data security and infrastructure concepts.
• In-house counsel experience at a growth-stage technology company.
• Interest in using AI tools to improve legal processes.
