Privacy & Product Counsel (AI)

Location: San Francisco or London, hybrid, with occasional travel for customer engagements and work with the other office.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 base per year, plus equity and bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Build and operate hirify.global's privacy program, including policies, data mapping, retention, vendor and subprocessor management, and data-flow governance.
• Advise product and engineering on privacy-by-design for agentic workflows, including data access, retention, inference, actions, documentation, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Own privacy compliance across US state privacy laws, UK GDPR and DPA 2018, EU GDPR, and emerging AI-specific regulations.
• Draft and negotiate enterprise contracts, DPAs, security addenda, SCCs, UK IDTA/Addendum arrangements, and subprocessor frameworks.
• Partner with security on incident response, breach notifications, and customer-facing security commitments across jurisdictions.
• Act as the primary legal contact for enterprise customers' legal, security, and procurement teams.

Requirements

• 6–7 years of post-qualification experience in privacy and product or commercial counsel work.
• Fluency in US, UK, and EU privacy law, including CCPA/CPRA, US state privacy laws, UK GDPR/DPA 2018, and EU GDPR.
• Direct experience negotiating enterprise DPAs, security addenda, and international data-transfer mechanisms.
• Ability to advise product and engineering teams on data flows, consent gates, retention, and privacy-by-design decisions.
• Strong generalist legal capability, commercial judgment, ownership, and clear communication with founders, engineers, and enterprise counsel.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from San Francisco or London and travel occasionally for customer engagements and collaboration with the other office.
