Senior Commercial Counsel (AI)

Location: Remote within eligible US locations

Salary: $146,590–$174,000 base salary, plus eligibility for bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Advise the procurement team and lead negotiations for vendor, supplier, technology, laboratory, and data-operation contracts.
• Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, technology license, master services, marketing, and professional services agreements.
• Partner with privacy specialists on Data Processing Agreements and security addenda.
• Provide guidance on contract interpretation, risk mitigation, compliance, and business policies.
• Develop AI-enabled legal playbooks, templates, workflows, and internal policies.
• Support strategic transactions, corporate governance, regulatory monitoring, and corporate development initiatives.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in good standing of at least one US state bar.
• 5+ years of relevant experience focused on technology transactions and complex commercial agreements.
• In-house experience at a technology or data-driven company.
• Experience independently negotiating complex procurement, vendor, supplier, and technology agreements globally.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, including hands-on Data Processing Agreement negotiations.
• Hands-on daily proficiency using AI for legal drafting, contract review, research, and analysis, plus fluency with legal technology and CLM systems.

Nice to have

• Experience at a top-tier law firm.
• CIPP/US certification; CIPP/E or other international certifications.
• Experience negotiating agreements involving AI and machine learning.
• Experience building prompts, workflows, automations, or AI and CLM tooling.
