Field Engineer (Medical Imaging)

Location: Northern Virginia, VA, US; field engineers must live within the assigned territory. The role operates from a home office and at hospitals and imaging centers, with frequent driving and occasional overnight travel.

Salary: $36.01–$48.01 per hour, depending on experience, technical and communication skills, and geographic market factors.

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain laser printers, networks, CR and DR X-ray systems, radio fluoroscopy equipment, and other hospital equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electronic, mechanical, and networking problems independently using technical documentation, tools, test equipment, and escalation processes.
• Build customer relationships through proactive visits, timely communication, issue ownership, and clear service commitments.
• Complete preventive maintenance, Field Change Orders, installations, service documentation, work orders, and related administrative tasks.
• Support customer equipment remotely through telephone assistance, remote diagnostics, and technical guidance when required.
• Follow state and federal regulations, training, quality, safety, asset-management, and customer facility credentialing requirements.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in electronics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of electronics industry experience, preferably in field service; diagnostic imaging experience is beneficial.
• Knowledge of computers, networking, Microsoft Office, electronic and mechanical theory, tools, test equipment, schematics, and site drawings.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, communication, customer service, teamwork, and independent problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record compliant with fleet policy.
• Ability to live within the Northern Virginia service territory and work in hospitals, imaging centers, and a home office.

Nice to have

• Experience with X-ray systems or complex medical devices.
• Knowledge of the company’s equipment.
• BSEE, BSEET, BSME, or BSMET degree.
