Maintenance Technician (Building Maintenance)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; onsite with local travel between assigned properties

Salary: $26–$31 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across assigned commercial and residential properties.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, lighting, fixtures, outlets, switches, and related building systems.
• Inspect common areas, mechanical spaces, building systems, and exterior areas for maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Respond to tenant, resident, and property-management service requests professionally and promptly.
• Support small construction, renovation, and property-improvement projects from planning through completion.
• Coordinate specialized repairs with vendors and contractors while maintaining accurate work records and inventory.

Requirements

• At least one year of maintenance, mechanical, facilities, or building-engineering experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent, general mechanical aptitude, and practical building-maintenance experience.
• Experience with programmable logic controllers or building automation systems, preventive-maintenance programs, work-order systems, and vendor coordination.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting issues.
• Authorization to work in the United States, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally between properties.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, climb, bend, and perform physically active maintenance work.

Nice to have

• Trade certifications or coursework in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields.
