Director, Environmental Health & Safety

Salary: $157,250–$185,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the deployment and ongoing management of environmental health and safety programs across US project and development sites.
• Identify loss exposures, assess risks, implement prevention plans, and audit their effectiveness.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, site inspections, third-party audits, documentation, permits, and corrective actions.
• Review accidents and incidents, conduct field audits, and support workers’ compensation claims, injury management, and rehabilitation.
• Maintain safe-work procedures, emergency manuals, and the online safety training platform in line with industry standards and OSHA requirements.
• Develop standards for environmental issues in commercial buildings, including asbestos, fuel oil storage tanks, indoor air quality, mold remediation, and water intrusion.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Safety, Engineering, or a related science preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety, or equivalent experience.
• Subject matter expertise in EHS and relevant US standards, including OH&S legislation and regulations.
• Demonstrable systems management experience across multiple accounts or sites.
• Formal training and experience in investigation, auditing, research, and report writing.
• Ability to travel to corporate and client offices as required.

Nice to have

• Safety certification such as CSP or CIH.
