Director, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. The role is based at hirify.global's headquarters and supports facilities across the US.

Base salary: $150,000–$228,000 USD annually, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental, health, and safety policies and programs across US locations.
• Manage compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations, including permits, audits, inspections, reports, records, and corrective actions.
• Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste, air permitting, pollution and spill prevention, stormwater, wastewater, sustainability, and environmental compliance programs.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective-action initiatives.
• Develop emergency response plans and deliver training covering safe work practices, environmental protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Manage the EHS budget and workforce, including hiring, mentoring, consultants, and collaboration with operations, Legal, People & Culture, and engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health and safety, environmental technology, or a similar field.
• Certified Health & Safety Professional certification.
• 15+ years of occupational health and safety experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or construction.
• Practical knowledge of emergency management, occupational health, and workplace hygiene.
• Experience with risk assessment, policy development, training, project management, hazardous substances, and safety in manufacturing engineering.
• For US office roles, candidates must be US citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain applicable US export-control authorizations under ITAR.
