Manager, Automation and Controls Engineering

Location: Onsite at the Moen Distribution Center in Kinston, North Carolina, United States

Salary: $107,000–$165,000 USD per year, plus an annual bonus or role-based sales incentive.

What you will do

• Lead facility management, maintenance operations, equipment ownership, preventive maintenance plans, and continuous improvement projects.
• Guide maintenance staff and support equipment installation, repairs, troubleshooting, and professional development.
• Lead facility engineering, automation, startup, validation, and capital projects with internal stakeholders.
• Act as the automation subject matter expert for controls capabilities, system design, and future automation strategies.
• Establish processes, performance standards, KPIs, policies, and procedures for the distribution center.
• Maintain a safe, compliant, and cost-efficient operation while managing labor and overhead budgets.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or related operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
• Experience leading engineering and maintenance teams in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills involving conveyors, robotics, automated systems, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Experience with controls integration and technologies such as Allen Bradley, FactoryTalk, Logix 5000, RSLinx, Rockwell Automation, Studio 500 Logix, and AB PowerFlex drives.
• Experience with Intelligrated software, project management, continuous improvement, Six Sigma, 5S, or Lean Manufacturing/Distribution.
