Software Product Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design and build event-driven, data-intensive backend services with Node.js, TypeScript, Amazon Aurora, ECS, and SQS.
• Decompose healthcare and AI workflows into independently deployable microservices with clear service boundaries and data ownership.
• Develop AI pipelines for structured and unstructured data and build AI-enabled systems for mission-critical healthcare platforms.
• Design cloud-native architectures and distributed systems supporting AI-driven applications.
• Apply test-driven development and maintain unit, integration, and contract test coverage.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, research, and technical leadership teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production AI-enabled systems.
• Hands-on experience with React, Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, integrations, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS data and messaging services, CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated TDD and automated testing experience covering unit, integration, and contract tests.
• U.S. citizenship and residence within the continental United States are required; ability to obtain and maintain a government Public Trust clearance is required when applicable.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI solutions in regulated healthcare or federal government environments.
• Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, AI orchestration frameworks, agent-based architecture, or intelligent automation.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or Amazon Aurora performance tuning, Amazon S3, SQS workflows, Docker, or Kubernetes.
