TL;DR
Staff Software Engineer (AI): Building and evolving Coder’s agentic development systems across the agent harness, integrations, and workflows with an accent on Go-based production systems, LLM integrations, and provider-agnostic architecture. Focus on designing agent execution and context management, leading complex distributed-systems projects, and improving the reliability, performance, and operability of AI development infrastructure.
Location: Remote within the United Kingdom, Ireland, or Poland
Compensation: £113K–£170K in the United Kingdom, €156K–€234K in Ireland, or PLN 545K–PLN 818K in Poland, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do
- Set technical direction for the agent harness, integrations, and workflows.
- Design and build production systems in Go, with React and TypeScript work where needed.
- Evolve agent execution, tool use, context management, streaming, and long-running workflows.
- Extend provider-agnostic architecture as models and capabilities change.
- Lead complex projects from early ambiguity through production.
- Improve reliability, performance, and operability through architecture, reviews, and mentorship.
Requirements
- Deep experience building and operating production software systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Go, plus experience with React and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience building systems around LLMs and agentic workflows, including model APIs, tool calling, context management, or agent loops.
- Strong distributed-systems knowledge and working knowledge of AWS.
- Experience setting technical direction without formal authority and making architectural decisions in ambiguous environments.
- Ability to raise engineering quality through mentorship and technical collaboration.
Nice to have
- Experience building coding agents, developer tools, or cloud development environments.
- Experience with agent tools, multi-agent systems, or abstractions across multiple model providers.
- Deep experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux.
- Open-source contributions or experience working directly with customers.
