CNC Programmer (Nuclear Manufacturing)

Salary: $75,000–$110,000 per year

Work on manufacturing programs supporting commercial nuclear and military applications.

What you will do

• Coordinate with design engineering on new product releases and review engineering drawings for manufacturability.
• Analyze labor standards, product flow, equipment, and labor requirements to improve productivity and reduce production costs.
• Develop machining processes, including tooling selection for individual components and sub-assemblies.
• Manage NC program files, revision control, and security according to EMD procedures.
• Collaborate with program management, finance, quality, procurement, inspection, production, and equipment acquisition teams.
• Train and mentor qualified hourly machinists serving as Operator Programmers.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required due to DoD requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least five years of manufacturing experience, including machining, welding/fabrication, assembly, electrical, or plastics.
• At least five years of CAM experience for NC program generation, particularly Mastercam.
• Experience with blueprint reading, GD&T according to ASME Y14.5M, commercial nuclear or military quality systems, and Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice to have

• Siemens NX experience for NC programming.
• Knowledge of 3D solid modeling.
• Experience creating tooling libraries in CAM using vendor catalogs.
