CNC Machinist, IV (Robotics)

What you will do

• Develop and modify complex CNC programs and machine setups for multi-axis lathes and mills.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment to manufacture precision robotic components.
• Analyze engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, surface models, and assemblies using GD&T principles.
• Recommend tooling, speeds, feeds, clamping methods, and custom fixturing for complex geometries and high-performance materials.
• Run tests, simulate toolpaths, validate output, and troubleshoot tooling, setup, and surface-finish issues.
• Lead program-level corrective actions and process improvements that reduce cycle time, scrap, and setup complexity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in CNC programming and advanced machining.
• Expert knowledge of multi-axis CNC programming, G-code, M-code, and CAM tools such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX.
• Experience with 4- or 5-axis machines and advanced CAM software.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and models with tight tolerances and apply GD&T knowledge.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with robotics, aerospace, or precision manufacturing; ISO 9001 or AS9100 and ERP/CAD/CAM integration familiarity are relevant qualifications.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or technical certification in machining or manufacturing.
• Experience mentoring junior technicians or programmers.
• Experience with aluminum, titanium, and engineered plastics.
