Machinist V, CNC Programmer (CNC)

Location: Frederick, Maryland, United States; on-site workshop position. Hours: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Salary: $48.00–$60.00 per hour

What you will do

• Develop CNC programs with Mastercam, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, or equivalent CAM software for complex components.
• Set up and operate dual-spindle lathes, 5-axis mills, manual machines, and other CNC equipment.
• Perform milling, turning, drilling, tapping, reaming, boring, broaching, and machining of metallic and nonmetallic materials.
• Design custom fixtures and workholding solutions, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications while collaborating with engineers and technicians.
• Inspect parts, document work for traceability, troubleshoot equipment and quality issues, and maintain machines and a safe 5S work area.

Requirements

• 15+ years of manufacturing experience involving CNC programming and machine setup.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Expertise in at least two major CAM platforms, advanced post-processor customization, and complex process planning from solid model to finished part.
• Ability to program complex parts, develop and edit post processors, reverse engineer parts, and set up lights-out machining.
• Experience with automation integration, including robot tending, pallet systems, adaptive machining, and advanced CMM programming.
• Ability to use precision inspection tools, record technical data accurately, follow hazardous-materials and industrial safety procedures, and lift at least 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• CAM software certification, such as Mastercam Certified Programmer or Siemens NX CAM Certification.
• Willingness to obtain OSHA-30, forklift, hazardous-materials, or OEM machine certifications.
