Engineer, Material Flow Engineering (Automotive)

Location: Warsaw, Indiana, USA; onsite. Applicants must provide proof of immediate, ongoing, and valid eligibility to work full time in the United States.

Provides design and engineering services to the automotive industry and global original equipment manufacturers, from concept through production.

What you will do

• Implement and optimize material flow from warehouses to production points of use using lean manufacturing principles.
• Develop and implement lineside replenishment systems, including eKanban, in collaboration with IT.
• Maintain material-handling layouts that optimize warehouse and production-floor space.
• Lead pull-system implementation and balance inventory levels at points of use.
• Manage material-handling equipment from procurement through operational deployment, including forklifts, tuggers, AGVs/AGCs, carts, racks, and low-cost automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in material flow, logistics, or industrial engineering, preferably in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, simulation tools, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Full-time eligibility to work in the United States is required.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience with PFEP data, assembly and body shop processes, job balancing, internal logistics routes, warehouse management, and ERP systems.
• Experience with fork-free material delivery, including kitting, sequencing cells, and lean lineside presentation.
• Familiarity with WMS, material-tracking technologies, CAD systems, layout drawings, and flow-layout optimization.
