Supervisor, Mechanical Design Engineer (Nuclear)

What you will do

• Lead and guide a team of mechanical design engineers within the Engineering Group.
• Design parts and assemblies for valves, hydraulic assemblies, actuators, and related product lines.
• Create schematic and assembly drawings using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Review manufacturing drawings, determine manufacturing processes, and define tolerancing requirements.
• Develop engineering solutions and proposal documentation for RFQs and RFIs.
• Collaborate with analysis teams on components requiring FEA or CFD and communicate with customers about project and design challenges.

Requirements

• 12+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with industrial and machine design and leading product development activities.
• Knowledge of casting, machining, grinding, lapping, additive manufacturing, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Proficiency in GD&T, drawing creation, DFMA, DMAIC, FMEA, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• In-depth understanding of ASME standards for valve design.
• Required travel is less than 5%.

Nice to have

• AutoCAD proficiency for layouts and schematics.
• Familiarity with nuclear industry standards including ASME, ANSI, API, and IEEE.
• Knowledge of industrial hydraulics, electrical equipment, and MTTF or MTBF concepts.
