Sr. Software Engineering Manager (Medical Technology): Leading multiple software engineering teams developing software products and capabilities for regulated medical technology, with an accent on technical direction, talent development, quality, and delivery. Focus on establishing scalable engineering practices, driving CI/CD and operational excellence, coordinating cross-functional programs, and ensuring compliance with medical software standards.

Location: Fridley, Minnesota, United States of America. The role is subject to U.S. work authorization requirements; sponsorship is not available below the Principal level.

Salary: $175,200–$262,800 USD annually, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

  • Lead multiple software engineering teams and coach engineers, technical leads, and emerging leaders.
  • Set engineering strategies, development practices, and technical standards for scalable, secure, and maintainable software.
  • Oversee software development across multiple programs, from planning and delivery through deployment and maintenance.
  • Partner with product, quality, regulatory, clinical, operations, and security stakeholders on requirements and implementation plans.
  • Drive automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, operational excellence, resource planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Communicate program status, metrics, risks, and strategic recommendations to engineering and business leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant experience or master's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Experience leading software teams through the full software development lifecycle and managing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with structured quality or regulated development environments, preferably in medical devices or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP, as well as DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is offered only for Principal-level roles and above.

Nice to have

  • Experience leading multiple engineering teams, technical leads, or engineering managers.
  • Knowledge of IEC 62304 and IEC 82304 software lifecycle and quality standards.
