Sr. Manager Data Platform (Microsoft SQL Server)

Location: Chicago (Green St), Illinois, United States; hybrid work model

Salary: $136,885.10–$200,000.00 per year, plus bonus and/or commission eligibility

What you will do

• Lead a team of database engineers, including direct reports and offshore resources.
• Architect, build, maintain, and support data technologies for mission-critical business applications.
• Provide senior technical guidance, prioritize work, resolve complex problems, and participate in strategy discussions.
• Coordinate with vendors, Operations, Product Development, Data Architecture, SRE, and DevOps teams.
• Automate deployment and monitoring across the data ecosystem and improve hosting complexity, agility, and efficiency.
• Support 24x7 on-call rotation, incident management, change management, documentation, training, and resource planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work experience and technical certifications.
• 12+ years of information systems experience in large enterprise environments supporting mission-critical systems and applications.
• 5+ years in a technical team lead role managing at least five resources.
• 8+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and experience managing large OLTP databases at scale.
• 5+ years with cloud database technologies including AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, Azure PaaS, or Hyperscale, plus 5+ years with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with complex system integration, database upgrades, patch management, SOC controls, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
