Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Location: Remote across the United States, with travel to and onsite work at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 annually, based on experience

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately eight software engineers.
• Partner with Product Management to define roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and deliver incremental business value.
• Guide system design, architecture, and technical decisions for scalable cloud-based applications and services.
• Oversee software delivery with responsibility for quality, reliability, security, and alignment with business goals.
• Drive engineering practices including agile delivery, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and DevOps.
• Assess technical debt, platform needs, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled tools to inform strategic investments and improve delivery.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of software engineering experience.
• 3–5 years of experience leading engineering teams preferred.
• 5+ years working with modern technology stacks and adapting to evolving technical environments.
• Experience with REST APIs, serverless architecture, containerization, infrastructure as code, public cloud, observability, GraphQL, and/or event-driven architecture.
• Experience delivering scalable applications using componentized and distributed architectures, with strong foundations in formal architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including globally distributed audiences; willingness to travel and work onsite when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft technologies or willingness to expand into the Microsoft stack.
• Exposure to AI-enabled development tools, code generation models, ML-driven insights, embedding models, or vector search.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
