Stationary Engineer (District Energy)

Location: Onsite in Baltimore, Maryland, United States

Salary: $49.94 per hour plus a 10% bonus target

What you will do

• Operate boilers, chillers, feedwater systems, cooling towers, thermal storage, and steam and chilled water distribution systems.
• Stand watch as Lead Control Operator, Control Operator, or Auxiliary Operator and oversee assigned personnel and equipment.
• Monitor and control system pressure, temperature, flow, fuel transfer, storage, and water quality.
• Identify, report, mitigate, and correct equipment and system anomalies, including equipment casualties.
• Prepare work orders, operational records, logs, customer complaint reports, and maintenance documentation.
• Maintain safe working conditions and ensure compliance with operating, safety, water management, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Maryland First Class Stationary Engineer's License.
• At least five years of experience operating stationary or marine boilers.
• Ability to work extended or rotating shifts, including backshifts, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Ability to climb and tolerate heights up to 75 feet, work in confined and elevated-temperature spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license in good standing and a driving record meeting company standards.
• Reliable judgment and communication skills for control-operator watch duties and routine documentation.

Nice to have

• EPA CFC Technician Certification: Universal or minimum Type II and Type III.
• Knowledge of water management quality, outfall controls, fuel systems, asbestos controls, and metering regulations.
