Power Plant Stationary Engineer Full Time Days

Location: Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; on-site hospital operations. Full-time day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with vacation relief coverage for second- and third-shift operations.

Salary: USD 33.08–44.60 per hour

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, fabricate, install, and service hospital utility and equipment systems.
• Operate and maintain boilers, feedwater treatment, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, vacuum pumps, and medical gas systems.
• Maintain domestic hot and cold water systems, emergency diesel generators, fire pumps, and related safety equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, equipment rounds, meter readings, chemical testing, adjustments, and operating-log documentation.
• Respond to service requests and fire alarms, assist maintenance and electrical staff, and coordinate with outside contractors.
• Support snow and ice removal and other routine manual duties as required.

Requirements

• Valid City of Chicago Stationary Engineer License required.
• Thorough knowledge of steam generation and refrigeration principles.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• 1–2 years of related experience required; five years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital setting, is preferred.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shift coverage as required, including second- and third-shift vacation relief.
