Senior Software Developer Engineer in Test (StorageGRID)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; hybrid work-from-home/office model with in-office expectations

Salary: 117,300–151,800 CAD annually in on-target earnings, including base salary and potential commission.

What you will do

• Write and execute test plans for new features, system integration, and high-traffic performance.
• Develop automated nightly and system tests for StorageGRID object storage software.
• Set up and maintain test configurations, environments, and tools for long-term testing.
• Participate in feature design discussions, clarify acceptance criteria, and review proposed solutions.
• Identify, report, and investigate issues discovered during testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development or testing, including automation.
• Proficiency in Ruby or an equivalent scripting language.
• Experience with Linux, Cassandra or similar databases, and REST API development and testing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development, and continuous integration.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in the Vancouver hybrid work environment and meet in-office expectations.

Nice to have

• Experience testing distributed storage systems or other complex, large-scale software.
• Experience with cloud APIs such as AWS S3.
• Experience with AI-driven code development, AI-assisted test plan creation, or AI-generated issue analysis.
