Senior Design Engineer (AI Platforms)

Location: 100% remote, work from anywhere; at least 3 hours' overlap with the Eastern Time Zone required

What you will do

• Design clear, compelling UI/UX and create high-quality mocks for internal growth, AI-native knowledge and agent platforms, and administrative tools.
• Turn design mocks into pixel-perfect, production-ready frontends using modern web technologies.
• Improve layout, interactions, motion, information density, and design consistency across existing interfaces.
• Own and evolve the design system, including components, tokens, patterns, and component libraries.
• Prototype ideas rapidly with AI-native development tools and ship polished features end to end.
• Design interface patterns for streaming output, long-running agent runs, and tool-calling workflows; collaborate with engineers and stakeholders and participate in code reviews.

Requirements

• Daily hands-on experience prompting and building with AI-native development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
• Strong practical experience with TypeScript, Vue, React, or equivalent modern web technologies.
• Real experience building and owning a design system in code.
• Strong judgment in typography, spacing, layout, micro-interactions, transitions, and information density.
• Contributions to open-source UI libraries or design resources.
• Strong collaboration, communication, ownership, and responsibility in a fully distributed team.

Nice to have

• Strong UX and visual design skills with demonstrated taste and craftsmanship.
• Ability to move between Figma and frontend code.
• Experience with internal tools, admin dashboards, or developer-facing products.
• Experience with prompt engineering, LLM integration, streaming interfaces, agentic tasks, or tool-calling surfaces.
• Experience designing or consuming APIs and working with frontend performance and reliability.
