DfSafety and Reliability Engineer

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States. Relocation eligible. Travel required up to 10% of the time.

Salary: $100,000–$136,500 per year

What you will do

• Identify and mitigate risks using FMECA and Design Verification Testing.
• Work with Product Safety Engineering to evaluate compliance with Applied Minimum Product Safety Requirements.
• Develop acceleration techniques and analytical tools for early identification of product safety and reliability issues.
• Propose procedure improvements to prevent equipment damage or injury.
• Prepare and present safety and reliability reports.
• Support root cause analysis of field failures and coordinate improvement changes with suppliers.

Requirements

• Expertise in semiconductor equipment, particularly products with single points of failure.
• Knowledge of derating and thermal management for extending the useful life of electrical components.
• Understanding of SEMI S2, IPC 610D, IPC 9592, IEC/EN 61000, JESD22, and MIL-STD-810 standards.
• Knowledge of safety requirements and certifications including UL, CE, and TUV.
• Ability to automate data analysis using AI.
• Ability to lead complex reliability problem-solving and communicate difficult technical concepts.
