What you will do
- Own reliability and quality activities across design, planning, manufacturing, and program execution for Terran R components.
- Support drawing standardization, design for manufacturability, configuration management, work-instruction reviews, and process development.
- Perform in-process build verification and coordinate travelled work across manufacturing operations.
- Manage nonconformance ticket processes, as-built verification, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Develop specifications, walk-down checklists, inspection automation initiatives, and other quality-improvement projects.
- Partner with Engineering, Additive, Manufacturing, Test, and Launch teams to meet program objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another STEM field and at least 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience working with design engineering, manufacturing, production, and test personnel.
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, complex assembly practices, and quality processes and controls.
- Working knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software, plus proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to solve complex cross-functional problems, establish project goals, and communicate effectively with technical teams and management.
- Experience with process development and first-time quality efforts.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of FMEA, APQP, SPC, and PPV.
- Successful hardware NPI experience across manufacturing, testing, and production systems.
- Familiarity with high-volume inspection and data-driven acceptance methods.
- Understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 practices for aerospace programs.
- Experience defining and rolling out new processes across diverse teams.
