Engineer, Grid Operations Technology (Power Systems)

Location: Hybrid schedule in Dorchester, Massachusetts; travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire may be required. Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal responsibilities, hours, and location.

Salary: $100,490–$111,660 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Maintain and support Energy Management System and Dispatcher Training Simulator applications, including State Estimator, RTCA, and Loadflow.
• Monitor EMS software performance and produce reports supporting system adequacy, outage analysis, and real-time electric-system reliability.
• Develop processes and methods to identify discrepancies between system telemetry and EMS solutions.
• Support Transmission System Operators through training programs and dispatcher training scenarios.
• Design, construct, and implement complex systems in accordance with industry standards and transmission planning requirements.
• Develop operational and emergency action plans for electric transmission systems and bulk supply substations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of related experience.
• Knowledge of power systems analysis, power delivery system operation, and power system theory.
• Creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment for solving complex engineering problems.
• Proficiency with desktop applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Immigration-related visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring sponsorship to start employment will not be considered.
