Hardware Sustaining, Lead - Onsite Position (Embedded Hardware)

Location: Onsite in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 90,300–120,400 per year plus bonus opportunity

What you will do

• Provide engineering support across production, including debug and repair operations.
• Address issues with manufacturing test equipment and support test setups.
• Investigate field-reported issues and production yield improvements.
• Debug and test new embedded products and enhance existing products.
• Champion test automation for embedded products using Python scripting.
• Create user, design, and manufacturing technical data documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Technologist Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of board-level development and hands-on laboratory experience.
• Strong electronics, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with test automation using Python.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to real-world products and contribute to process improvements.
• Ability to work onsite in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with multidisciplinary product development teams and development processes.
• Familiarity with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, electronics testing, and debugging.
• Knowledge of high-speed digital circuit board design and signal integrity.
• Experience with CAD tools, electronics soldering, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or LabJack projects.
• Familiarity with VME, VPX, CompactPCI, PMC/XMC mezzanines, PCIe, RapidIO, and VxWorks.
