Hardware Compliance Specialist, Lead (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 90,300–140,000 per year, plus bonus opportunity

What you will do

• Contribute to hardware design activities targeting EMI/EMC compliance for embedded systems.
• Analyze compliance requirements, conduct design reviews, and identify technical risks.
• Establish internal laboratory capabilities and perform design de-risking and debug activities.
• Coordinate and witness formal compliance testing at external laboratories.
• Provide guidance on filtering, grounding, chassis features, cable design, and other EMI/EMC practices.
• Generate test reports and summarize compliance results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 8+ years of hardware compliance experience with industrial, military, or aerospace electronic products.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with spectrum analyzers, LISN, oscilloscopes, antennas, and power supplies.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-461, DO-160, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-1275.
• Experience with EMI/EMC design, signal filtering, grounding, mechanical chassis features, and cable assembly techniques.
• Strong electronics, measurement, debugging, technical reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with MIL-STD-810, EN61000, CISPR, or EM emissions SDIP/TEMPEST requirements.
• Experience with thermal, vibration, and environmental testing.
