Senior Product Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada — onsite position

Salary: CAD 90,300–120,400 annually, plus bonus opportunity

What you will do

• Drive the full systems engineering product lifecycle for rugged deployed systems operating in harsh environments.
• Lead product integration, verification, validation, and testing activities.
• Debug and test embedded and system products across hardware, firmware, and operating-system levels.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and workmanship standards.
• Support and enhance existing products while improving development processes.
• Create user and design documentation and contribute to manufacturing technical data packages.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of systems engineering experience with rugged deployed systems for harsh environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science; a technologist diploma or equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience with requirements management, traceability, validation, integration, verification, and certification.
• Experience developing electronic assemblies for rugged environments and applying Design for Manufacturability principles.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across rugged computing hardware, firmware, and operating systems.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux, plus scripting or automation experience using Python or a similar language.
