Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, United States (on-site)

Salary: $55,000–$80,000 per year

Manufacturing division providing mission-critical pumps and related services for U.S. Navy ships and submarines.

What you will do

• Analyze purchase requisitions and determine sourcing strategies.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotes, pricing, and delivery terms.
• Support supplier selection and conduct supplier site visits and capability assessments.
• Issue and administer purchase orders, change orders, and requests for quotes in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve invoice and receiving issues, and escalate disputes when necessary.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, and engineering teams while identifying cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing practices, and supplier management.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Basic negotiation skills and exposure to contract terms and conditions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
• Ability to meet additional security screening requirements if exposed to export-controlled information.
