Senior Buyer (Aerospace)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States

Salary: $67,400–$90,000 per year plus bonus

A Curtiss-Wright Sensors & Controls Division business with more than 50 years of aviation technology experience, producing sensors, actuators, fluid controls, motion control subsystems, and structural components for commercial, defense, and industrial aerospace platforms.

What you will do

• Lead procurement for high-value, technical, and strategic commodities and services.
• Develop sourcing strategies, select vendors, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate purchasing with manufacturing, planning, engineering, and quality teams to support production schedules.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, terms, and conditions.
• Track and expedite complex purchase orders, proactively managing delivery schedules.
• Resolve supplier claims, shipment discrepancies, engineering changes, cancellations, and invoicing issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Experience with MS Office and ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with price and cost analysis, contract negotiations, and supplier performance evaluation.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• PMAC, ISM, or APICS certification, such as CPM, CPSM, or CPIM.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
